Will it start?
I'm going tomorrow to buy an 86 camaro sports coupe but the intake is off of the engine, im not sure how long the intake has been off so is there any hope for this little 2.8?

Bring a wrench and an 18mm socket. Try to turn the engine by hand. If the hood has been down while the intake is off, it may be safe, but check it anyways. Take the fuel rail off (get fuel injector o-rings as well) and the lower plenum, and shine a flashlight in the ports, making sure there are no animals/animal nests or maple seeds (helicopters) in the ports before you try to put anything back together. Also make sure the fluids are there, but especially the oil, coolant, and trans fluid. Power steering and anything else can wait as they aren't absolutely crucial to putting the car on a trailer.
Other than that, don't break the idle air pipe when you put the engine back together. Use the vacuum routing diagram to find out where the disconnected stuff goes.
