Location of O2 sensor on 2.8L '86 Firebird
Location of O2 sensor on 2.8L '86 Firebird
I seem to be having trouble locating the O2 sensor on my '86 Firebird.
Could anybody post a picture of it so I can relate it to other parts of the engine? Maybe have it circled in a bright color so I know exactly what I'm looking for?
It seems silly, but I just can't seem to find it.
Thanks.

If its in the same place as my Camaro it is on the Y pipe on the on the passenger side right before the cat. you should be able to see it pretty easy it you jack up the front passenger side.

I've changed mine with out jacking it up. You'll probably need lots of PB blaster and a 7/8in wrench.

That's the easiest way to get at it. You'd have to go through the floorboards otherwise. You won't be able to get it out without getting the front end high enough to get some decent leverage on the thing. Which is something you will need as it's probably been in the pipe for years.

i found using a little bit of heat helps it break loose. a torch works nice when you have the room. just don't heat it up to much or you will have a nice sized hole in the exhaust.
