that stupidass LIM coolant pipe

I believe thats where I have a major coolant leak(its spewing everywhere, and or onto my belt further compounding the issue...hard to tell if that is it for sure, but anyway, anyone know what fittings I can get to remove this stupid thing for good? And wth size wrench it is?

I believe it's a standard NPT threaded fitting, so you should be able to just get some short pipe and an elbow or something and fab something up. Or, do what I'm doing and go to the parts store and get a fitting that goes in there that you can just put a hose on. Then, see if you can get a hose that is shaped to go in the direction the original pipe did.

Problem with the thing is that blasted nylon clip that ALWAYS breaks at the worst time, and that it's a PITA to find o-rings for it. The 2.8s had a better design that was just screwed together with a double-ended fitting that went into the manifold.

When I say I'm getting rid of it, I mean I'm ripping the damn thing out and putting an aftermarket type fitting in that won't fall apart, I just need to know what type of connector and thread size/type....

I removed mine (along with the rest of the heater lines/hoses) and I run a t-stat with no issues.

I'll get you a pic of mine if it ever stops raining here. I just put it in the 3100 manifold a couple days ago to get it out of its package and out of my way on the back table. All it is is a fitting that screws into the manifold that you put a hose on. No plastic BS in the middle that will leak, no o-rings, none of that crap. Should have done it a long time ago , but I didn't.

Don't forget to seal it when you put it in, whatever you use. Unless it's the CTS or the CTG (the term I use for the gauge sender) or the fan switch, I always use thread seal tape on the fittings because I just HATE coolant leaks.

Re: that stupidass LIM coolant pipe

ironically I actually made it worse trying to fix it, tried to seal it with some RTV hoping it would hold long enough to get it to a parts place, but instead of leaking it now shoots out at high pressure in like 4 directions, at least 1 of which goes right onto the belt which then slings it outward....fun stuff...
