I know this sounds stupid, but...

I know this sounds stupid, but...

I was thinking about nitrous while driving the other day. Nitrous makes car go faster by giving more 02 to the engine (partly, anyways) So I thought, why not just rig an O2 Bottle to give the engine more + colder oxygen. Wouldn't be that hard to build into the intake, would it? Just need a N02 control valve and I'd be set. What does everyone think of this? I'm gonna pick up a bottle today right soon.

I once heard a guy attempt this and it worked.. I think O2 flows faster per volume and that is why the tanks size would have to be large to really pump nice numbers..

Well, I know that NO2 is pretty dangerous, but I would think that pure O2 is a lot worse. I am not going to go into some big Chem thing though. My theory on nitrous was that the nitrogen takes the place of fuel, and the oxygen takes place of air, so you are adding in a (relatively) equal amount of each, since you must maintain the ratio of fuel:air. If you were running pure O2, wouldn't that just cover the air part without additional fuel, so you would be running a lean mixture? I really don't know if it matters because pure oxygen makes on hell of a bang! Just a theory though, please don't b***h me out if I am wrong.

Hmmm...interesting....I'm just worried that the O2 might cause a verry hot burning, and that'll cause my pistons to melt. Keep the thoughts coming....
