Camshaft

Is the camshaft that is made just for the 3.1L camaro worth the 150 dollars? And how much do they usually cost to be put in and set right?

The cam is a nice mod.. Expect to spend 200 for installation because any good mechanic will require you replace your timming chain too if you have any miles on your car. I got a double roller for my 2.8 and it is nice.. The Crane 2030 cam, Coyles double roller and comp cams 1.52 roller tip rockers would be a very nice combo for high 15 sec runnings..

Only $200 for installation? HEckm it's a mid-level job on your own, but if they'd really only charge that much, it's almost wrth it to hand it over for a weekend. Are you sure labor would only be $200 for a cam?

i wouldnt reccomend a novice try installing a cam themselves, its really not that big of a job, but if you dont know what your doing, you could easyly screw something up

Done right NO.. It also depends on what you think is cheap, I think a 250 install is fair..

How does anyone ever install a cam for the first tiem if a novice at it should never do it?

Cmon have faith in yourselves!!!!! GEEZ, you think i was born knowing about cars?? First thing i did on mine was install headers and a few months later i dove head first into an engine swap. If some slack jawed yokel at the gas station can do this stuff you guys can too.

Youll need: Tools, like basic hand tools, ratchets
youll also need a harmonic balancer puller which is like 10 bux from the autoparts store
a chiltons manual, AND SOME FREAKIN CONFIDENCE!
