How many people have done this, i have to do it this weekend, i have the haynes manual, and this looks like a long job. Does anybody have any pointers for me, and how long did it take you to do it?

It's more of a pain in the *** than anything else... expect to spend alot of time under the passenger side of the dash. There were some bolts "on top" of the heater core box that I couldn't see.. in fact I think I left one out.

It definately is a pain, but it's not a HARD job. The part thats annoying about it is that you have to sit upside down backwards in the passenger seat looking up underneath the dashboard with your head where your feet would normally go.
Be careful putting the new one in so that you don't damage the copper tubing. Where they are welded to the core that is..

I did this to my RS in January. Took about 8 hours total, I kept having to get out and stretch, standing on your head under the dash isn't a lot of fun.
However, I need to rip it all apart again, I created a really large rattle in there...
