If i swapped out my old 2.8l for a 3.4l would I need a new computer??? I have read that all I will need is a 3.4 flywheel.
Thanks,
Mike

You would need a new PROM. Because the PROM is what carries the fuel curve, you'd need a PROM designed to accomodate 3.4 litres, not just 2.8 litres. Hypertech or FastChip can make you a custom PROM, along with many others.
Also, you will need to change over to different injectors to accomodate the extra volume. Pods8 (where'd he go??
) did a 2.8 to 3.4 swap in an '88 2.8 Camaro, and he actually used Ford 5.0 19lb/hr injectors. These will work, or I believe later GM 3.4 injectors would work as well.

I'm gearing up for the 3.4 litre swap in the summer, and I"m using the 3.4 block and heads for extra displacement, and injectors for extra pressure. Other then that, I"m using the 2.8 MPFI manifolds, plenum, computer, harness, sensors, etc. for ease of installation. I'm just porting out the intake to get more air to feed the displacement. Just another option.

Are you sure he'd need a new prom? I mean it makes sense, definately, but I've never heard of anyone changing it.
That could mean they're running lean, of course...
