Is the noise a clicking or a grinding?

If it is clicking its sounds like your starter . If it is grinding it could also be your flywheel .

Check all your starter wires to see if you have a loose connection. Could just be a losse wire.

knighthelm, said it right. check all your starter wires, the starter motor might actually be going bad. If you have a good mechanic, (an honest one) you might have him check it out. Now, when was the last time you did a full tune up? This could make a difference in the way it runs, and possibly in how easy it is to start up.
