hey reno
hey, i really like your plan to build up a 3.4. i like it so much i think i'm gonna do it myself. the engines from tacreations seem like a good deal...so when i muster up some cash i'll buy one in a month or so. the greatest part of this plan is that i can take all the time in the world building this engine until my current 3.1 craps out...which won't be for a while. time is a big factor when you are on a budget. anyway if you buy from tacreations before i do, please let me know if they're legit.or do you know anybody that has dealt with them??? anyway, good luck with your project.

A friend of mine bought some stuff from TA Creations a while back. He was happy with their service and the parts he received, as far as I could tell.
I'm eyeing one of those 3.4L setups myself...

I'm not getting mine til may, so let me know how it goes, delivery charges, etc. I"m hitting the redline around here just over my tranny. I need to find about $2k, quick. My second tranny is dying, so I'm going to accelerate the process of getting the new one. Might need to get and max out yet another CC, and just pay it off as time allows. I'm getting the best setup I can for the money though, so hopefully it will be very worth it in the long run.

After helping out with Chas's 2.8 to 3.4 swap the only real things you need to use over from the 2.8 are the accessories, distributor, flywheel and lower manifold. You could use the 3.4 plenum, but you need to make a a bracket for the throttle & kick down cables and chop off a notch that sticks up by the throttle body base so the 2.8 throttle body will fit. oh and cap off a few vacuum hoses. Unfortunately Chas wanted to look stock, so the 2.8 plenum was used. He's using the 3.4 injectors on it and a homemade AFPR. I suggest you get a dremmel while your doing the swap and gasket match the 2.8 lower manifold, it's not hard to do and free. If you have any questions visit www.nethirdgen.org and ask him.

It was a 93-94 ironhead 3.4 4thgen Camaro block whole. Do not get the aluminum head one or you'll need to use your 2.8 heads. Check with your local grease monkey mechanics. They can point you in the right way to finding one locally. I think Chas paid 400 for the motor and it had 60k on it. BTW we felt on the 4thgen oil pan the engine still fit fine and there were two useless sensors left over as the 3.4 was originally a speed density engine.
