oil pressure
ok the haynes manual has failed (again).does the oil pressure sending unit control the oil pressure gauge???? if not, what does??? also, where is it located???
my gauge hasn't worked for a 1 1/2 years so i've decided to fix it

Look right above the oil filter.Where the oil filter screws on there is a sending unit that just screws out and a new one screws in.Thats it.You could use a cresent wrench if you don't have a tool for the unit.

There's also a fuel pump safety switch there, with two pins; it also monitors oil pressure, but leave it in.
--Or, am I wrong? Did that switch disappear (or move) on the 3.1's? I know it's definately a 2.8 thing.
