greentop injector questions

I searched and couldn't find all the answers I was looking for. I was going to do the ford injectors to replace the old stock injectors, like in the (Ditch your stock injectors) thread. Also cleaning out the top end(EGR passages, intake passages, etc...)
My friend used to run the greentop 42# injectors in his turbo'd Vdub, and replaced them after a short while because they weren't good enough for his setup, and he is going to give them to me. They only have a couple hundred miles on them.
Here are the questions.(89 RS 2.8, little performance mods here and there, nothing too serious)
1. Are they too big for the V6?
2. Fuel efficiency wise, good or bad?
3. Relearn procedure, i know how to do it but is there anything specific to do when replacing injectors?
4. Any tips and/or tricks to make it easier?
5. Any additional info from anyone?

I know how to change out the injectors and such, just want to know if there is anything else to make the swap painless and quick. Also have a hybrid swap and turbo install in the future. I want that go-kart feel, lol. Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions

Re: greentop injector questions

Stock injectors are around 15#s so these will not work even with your turbo IIRC the max I have heard of on here with a turbo is in the 20's or 30's #hr rate with tons of boost and mods . Do a search on turbo v6's and you can get info from some of the guys that have done it already . They have alot of knowledge on this subject and can help you to get the most out of your settup .

Re: greentop injector questions

thanks for that info, i think i read something on the greentops awhile back so when my friend said he'd give me some i said hell yea, i forgot what the stock rate was though.

I'm going to the JY to try to find the 2.9 bronco II to pull the 14.5# injectors out, cause the ones in my car are probably severely affecting the gas mileage due to age.

Could someone confirm that the 14.5#hr injectors are good for the 2.8? Also, anyone have any resistance readings off of them so I can make sure they are good?

Re: greentop injector questions

Just an FYI the Ranger and Bronco II 2.9's and the non turbo 4 cyl , the straight 6 , 3.0 ? , and the low out put 5.0 are said to run the same injectors . Do a search for injectors on Google or what ever and look at injector sellers websites and most have a listing of what all the injectors work in .
