Has anyone tried this and seen a significant power increase? any replies greatly appreciated

my friend has some 1.6's on his 3.4 and his car is fast as F U C K!! lol..so yea difference is the word

MODS (either coming or on):
Flowmaster Cat Back, Random Technologies Cat, 3" intermediate pipe, Accel 8.8 wires, MSD Coil, MSD Ignition Module,MSD 6a, B&M Shifter, Transgo Shift Kit, Cold Air Induction, NEXT MOD: 5 speed...(torque convertor going so 5 speed a better idea) ..Then peeling and cracking paint..

My buddy John put 1.6's on his 2.8. He has a Stock Cam and Stock Valve Springs and it hurt his performance big time.. Also, a guy who used to visit this board way back lost out on his 2.8 with 1.6's until he upped the cam and valve springs... So from what I have learned without new 105# Valve springs don't do it and if ya can toss the Crane cam in too..

Now mind you both guys had over 100,000 miles when they did this...

damn, Do you think I could get away with changing the springs and rockers? if so how much for springs?

Personally I think any rocker change on a car as old as ours without new springs is a mistake.. For the recommend 105# Springs for 1.6 rollers I think would add about 60 bucks...
