How Many Knew This....
I was looking through an Edelbrock parts catalog and they say that there intake manifold for the Chevrolet 2.8 also fits '82-'86 AMC Jeep Cherokess with a 2.8 liter 60* V6. From what I am gathering, is that some of the Cherokess were equiped with the 2.8 Chevrolet engine.

CC,
Indeed that is correct AMC bought 2.8s from GM for use as the optional Cherokee engine from '84 to '86. They may have been used to '87 as well...not too sure on that.
They were a 2bbl carb in '84, then used the same TBI setup the 2.8 Blazers used from '85 to whenever they ceased being used in Cherokees. When AMC came out with their own 4.0 I6 in '87, the 2.8 lost its usefulness to AMC. They also used the 2.5 GM four for a short period of time too, before AMC developed its own 2.5.

I heard about that a couple years ago.... thught somebody was pullin' my leg. Wasn't this around the time AMC was having financial problems (right before chrysler stepped in)? Maybe they couldnt afford to produce them themselves?
