I have had a Flowmaster with the dual outlet for over 6 years and it does get a little bassier over time. Compared to my original muffler, it is a little deeper in sound, a bit louder on idle, but a touch quieter @ WOT. But definitely not quiet.

Most people when they hear my car think the engine sounds bigger than a 350.

Hmmm....maybe I should get the Dynomax in the Spring. I mean, I want a nice throaty sound, but I don't wanna be TOO loud.

I would not say it is LOUD. You DEFINITELY know that I have a V8, but it isn't so loud that I attract the attention of the police or the curses of the neighbors.

I like a good sounding car. Straight pipes and "holy" mufflers sound crappy as far as I'm concerned. I just had a small leak from where my intermediate pipe flange met with the flange just after the Y-pipe (I have dual cats). I have had NOTHING but problems with the clamp holding the flanges together and finally went to a muffler shop and said "cut the f*cker out and weld in a straight 3"...now it sounds perfect.

So I am very discriminating about the sound of my car...most people will like the sound of my exhaust system. Unless, you like silence or prefer the "open header" sound.

Have you changed your intermediate pipe? Going to a larger intermediate pipe will further increase the loudness (and deepness) of the sound...along with removing restrictions.

well i found out that the 80 series is the only available f-body muffler unless you want a single outlet setup which looks like crap.

The muffler should mellow out, and get a bit deeper, when the carbon starts to build up in the pipes.

I noticed that mine gets louder as the car starts to warm up, but no cops stop me cause I just dumped the single pipe and you can barely see the muffler so cops figure it's a v8.

Correction, the 80 series in not the ony one available to F-bodies. I have a 40 series that is just like stock. It sounds great. All of my friends almost start to drool when they hear it. I have been a long time watcher and I just decided to registe today. I hope this works.
