$20 for exhaust tip install....not bad eh?

I had a set of 3 inch tips put on yesterday for $20 the only way I can describe them is there about 9 to 10 inchs long and stick out just an inch or so under the rear. They look pretty damn cool
I have wanted them for awhile but couldn't aford the $15 to $20 for each tip.The place who put them on has sold his PLACE of business for a larger bldg and has until Dec 11 to relocate all the stuff he has in stock.I guess I was just in the right place at the right time ....so to add some tech here....has anyone noticed any sound difference with tips like these installed?I actually had someone ask if I had a 5.7 this morning....DUH..if they can't tell the difference from a v8 to the mighty rumble of a v6 then you say.....uh,yep!

that's the best lie in the world, but can only be pulled off by pre 4th genners. It's the beauty of having a vehicle that had many engine options, from a 4 banger, to a massive v8, and they could all be hidden under the name firebird or camaro.

umm, k i dont know how many 4th gens you've heard with tips like that, but i get asked on a regular basis if my 3.4L V6 is a V8.

i'll give out a story here :

I pulled up to the tire shop to get them to fix a flat on my car. Up pulls right next to me (had already shut the car off) a 1997 WS6 TransAm. complete with 17" 5-spokes and that wonderful 8 rumble. He stops and gets out as I'm walking up to the guy to tell him that I need a flat fixed.

Anyway, time passes, it's my turn and they pull my car into one of the spots, put it on a lift and start taking the tires off to rotate them, in the meanwhile, the WS6 gets pulled in right next to me. I was thinkin.."Sweet car.." and noticed his muffler was stainless (polished) steel..i thought to ask him of why he did that..if it was a show car or something. I asked him bout his exhaust and he told me no it was just aftermarket its the way it came he didnt know why..

anyway, we talked for a while, and as they lowered my car, he was like, yea i like my WS6, but yours is nice too...what..it's got like 275 HP right? thats what those v8's have yea? i swear i had to stifle a laugh, i told him it was a 6 and he was shocked!!

so 4th genners can pull off that lie too - just fyi.

laters.

I might be confused. But i thought that with the 4th gens, a camaro would come with a 3.4L, while the Z28 and SS would get a 346. But with 3rd gens, while a 2.8L was standard, you could still get a base camaro with a 305 v8. So when a person picks a race, the normally don't know if we have a 2.8/3.1MPFI or a 305TBI.
