and lost misserablly, yeah. I just wanted to make another truthful post, like my one about the T/A that i beat, well this guy beat me, bad. It wasn't even funny, actually, it was, when i got to the next light with the guy we were both Laughing our Asses Off. IT was great. Here's how it went, i was driving down the road, saw the light ahead turn red, and the Mustang Driver switched lanes so i could pull up next to him. I got there, and he took a quick glance at me, but then began to look at the road again, he slowly let his manual tranny go, and rev his massive, i mean, small v8 engine. But i was not intimidated by such an immature act, instead, i held my ground, and revved back. We both watch the lights, and when ours turned green, i stomped that gas pedal, had moderate wheel spin, a nice chirp, and was off like a bat out of hell, i was ahead at first, then he started to screw with me,only pulling his car even with mine, but then when he hit second, he took off, like a bat out of hell with a patriot missle strapped on his back. It was incredibly funny. What was also funny, were the construction workers on the side of the road, just infront of the stop light. They stopped working, and watched the race, and i could swear i heard them shouting "Go Firebird" so, even if i did lose i still got the people on my side. Oh yeah, i know this doesn't count as a win, or even a came close, but it's really funny, when i see how fast that mustang took off, and then think to myself, "a new Trans Am, is even faster" just puts a big grin on my face, from ear to ear.

Of course. Im suprised that you didnt know that a V6 coldnt beat a V8! LOL, j/k! Yup MOST V8s are fast as hell. And just for the people that talk **** cause I beat those 2 V8s my list of cars that kicked my *** would be longer.

I raced a 4.6 Mustang a few weeks back, I hung w/ him at the begining but as soon as he hit 2nd he was gone and I too was just laughing my *** off over it. It was one of those races when you just know your gonna get killed but it's still fun. I actually won a race in the 2.8 yesterday. I pulled up next to these to G's in this late 70's/early 80's Malibu. It was ragged out. These guys kept looking over like they wanted to race so I was like lets go. We both hit the gas and I walked on them. I had about 3 cars on them by the time I let off at 60 mph. They tryed to do a "***** fly-by" (even if it wasn't ricers I'm still calling it that) and I gased it again and hit 3rd and left them again. It was so much fun, especially when I looked in my rear-view mirror and saw them turning off into the projects.

I was coming home from my G/F's one night, and I pulled up next to this Mustang equivalent of my 'bird, only newer. All black, stock wheels, massive rumble, and only one tag. Should have thought better of it because my one tag says "Firebird," his was a small chrome cobra...

Anyway, we nailed it, he killed me, I went home. The next day I was going back to her house, and I get off on this exit ramp that's two lanes at the start but narrows to one. I look over, and the same SOB is right next to me, so we nail it again, and I kept up a little better, but he still nailed me.

Shameful.

Jason, its ok. At least I know what I really have now. It does suck though b/c they only made a little over 4000 Berlinettas in 1986 and a million SC's. I thought I had something special but now I know I have something that's just one in a million. I just always thought they stopped putting Berlinetta badges on them after 84, but Willie sent me a pic of an 86 and it has the Badges just like the 82-84 Berlies I've saw. To tell the truth I really do appreciate what you did w/ that post on the History/Resto board b/c it prevented me from looking foolish sometime down the line. Sad thing is that I actually had the thing for sale in the paper as a Camaro Berlinetta over the summer, ouch. Good thing I only had one call and I told her it was already sold b/c by that time I had decided to keep it.

I have an '84 Berlinetta, I HATE IT. I want an Iroc-Z. Its 2.8ltr auto, carb, cool nightrider radio. Its my first car, i just pretty recently turned 17. ITs black with brand new BFG radials, and some nice American Racing Rims, it looks quick as ****, but it aint. I wanted to put a fake dual exhaust system on it, with some of those big 3" pipes they have out at Pep Boys, does anyone know where to get a dual outlet muffler so i can do so? but anyway... i guess ill appreciate my car for a little while longer, i loaded a system in it (yes im one of those kids) and bump around town in it for now.

I have raced a few times, and remain flawless.
