EGR Valve
I think my EGR valve went i keep gettin a code 32 and checked all the connectons and reset the computer and the SES light still comes on is there a way i can tell if its bad ofr sure??? also is there a way i can bypass it for a while til i get around to putting a new one in they run min of 220.00$$
This is the best and only way to tell if you have a bad EGR valve. Spray WD-40 at the base of the EGR valve while the car is running. If it sucks the WD-40 in then our EGR is leaking and bad. Quick and easy. Later bro

Nobody sells a hi-po EGR. EGR only activates at high-speed, low-rpm "cruising" conditions, when the car is warmed up. Therefore it doesn't affect HP when you floor the gas. and if you're cruising (low rpm) you wouldn't use the extra HP anyway. That whole "block off the EGR!" or "disconnected EGR" thing is a load of bull... the only way someone gets faster from that is if either (A) their EGR was stuck open and always working, or (B) they have a good imagination.

Does this sound like the asket i sprayed WD40 and saw bubbles forming in 2 corners were the gasket it is. So is this a bad gasket i was gonna buy some orange permatex and sue that around it to seal it off.. would that work and is that the problem.

Could be, but which gasket did you put the sealer on? The EGR-to-exhaust-manifold gasket, or the EGR-tube-to-throttle-body one?
I ask because a leak on the EGR-to-manifold gasket wouldn't be "too" bad. Since EGR doesn't work all the time, you wouldn't notice a problem all the time. If the EGR is closed, a leak in that spot is "just" an exhaust leak... know what I mean?
But if the leak's at the EGR-to-TB gasket, the leak is always affecting the motor.
One thing I just noticed- code 32... that should come from the vacuum switch. The computer just knows if the EGR valve gets vacuum or not; it doesn't know if the EGR reacts to the vacuum or not. It could be a cracked vacuum hose- the computer activates EGR, then "sees" no vacuum because of the leak, so it sets an error code.
Oops, wait, is that an electronic EGR valve? Or is it vacuum operated (hose going to top)? If it's electronic, then ignore my previous paragraph- I don't know how the electronic units work with the computer.

The "EGR tube mod"...That is on LS1 motors and there is an EGR pipe that runs into the middle of the air stream behind the throttle body. You cut this off and get a gain....As far as 5hp, Hmmmm

TomP is right on the money here.....I love people saying they gained (insert # here) Horsepower by disconnecting the EGR.....Yeh right.

Is this the connector on the wiring harness? You can find those at "big" auto parts stores, they're made by Motormite.

ahh.. what i was getting at was the egr solenoid, but the connector being loose/corroded would do the same thing.. yeah i hate seeing fbods in the yard, a lot of cars with potential.. my one local yard, only have one fbody, a 84 2.8 maro.. pretty much everything missing off of it, i have taken.. so its pretty much my #1 donor..

FastRS, what does the connector look like? I found a 5-pin MAF connector for some people on the main tech board, and they swore the same thing you're saying (that it doesn't exist), maybe I can get lucky twice!
Are the pins on the connector large-ish and round and separate? (Looks like: o o o ) Or, are they small-ish, square, and all linked together? (Looks like ::::: )
