Garmer & Monkie & anyone else.

Garmer, I just ordered a Jet Stage 2 performance chip, and the thermostat to go with it. When you put yours in, how much of a difference did you notice. Also I read that it needed a low restriction exhaust. I ordered the Dynomax from summit, that should do ok, right? Hey Monkie, when are you gonna get some pics of that cold air induction?

Oh and dont put the thermostat in until spring or when it gets warmer. Otherwise you will never get your car warm in the mornings. And about the chip I think you will like it. Im getting the Jet 6 pack chip set.

Wait till Spring? Would that decrease performance considereing that the chip is designed to run on an engine with a cooler thermostat?

Well here in Tx, it's usually at least 70 in the winter. Or at least where I'm at. We do have a cold front in right now and it's at 40 or 50. What my question is tho, is would it hurt anything by not having the lower thermostat in because the chip said that it's designed for engines with a low thermostat, and I bought the one that's made for the chip.

Screw you all! (Joking!) It was 29 degrees last night around here. I'm going to add the "pizza box cardboard in front of the radiator" mod over the weekend; I'm freezing my vitals off- and that's with the 195 'stat!

They don't sell a 210 'stat, do they?

Hey Tom, you think you got it bad?? It was friggen 14 up here this morning. ARGH!!

That's why I did the stage 1 chip...just plug and play, and no stats to worry about when it gets cold I'd say he shouldn't have a problem being in TX with a stat though!

Ovrclck350, You are in big Trouble! Well not really, the stat you ordered from Jet is only a 180!

I would know, it happened to me too! There low restriction stat is a 180, when everyone elses is a 160! I had to order mine from Hypertech,, only place I could find one!

But before you stop the order, keep the 180. Put it in during the winter! It will run better. But order the 160 also, put that in the spring.

Now about performance. I used to have the slighest dead spot, before I had the Fastchip Stage 2, no more now. A lot better trottle response, alittle noticble HP,,, but not alot. But diffently one of the best mods I have ever done. Not only did I get more power, the engine used to run at 220, now it doesnt even get to 195!! I just love it!

When you put the stat in full the car on the highway for about 30min, also run w/ 92 or 89 already in the tank,, do fill up after you put it in. Dont gun when you first get it either,, the computer needs to resest itself!

If you have anymore questions just ask!

[Edit] Sorry since u live in Texas just put the 160 in! Unless it really gets cold.
