V6 Discussion and questions about the base carbureted or MPFI V6's and the rare SFI Turbo V6.

Would a 3.1L 5speed stand a chance against a 305 TBI auto?

Check out the Graduation date on my Picture on my web site. I have not actually graduated yet because I am finishing up 3 design classes that go in a series and you cant break them. THough I work at Liebert Corperation as a Mechanical Engineer in the Environmental engineering department. I am currently taking Graduate level class with my design corses which Liebert is paying for so I stay with them. I will actually get my diploma on time, but I got my job early from taking 20-22 credit hopurs a quarter.

Ok Mods to my Escort are.
Ported MAF, Ram Air into Air Box with K&N, Port matching for Throttle body to intake then intake to head whic is aluminum and has been ported out and given a 3 angle Valve job and milled the head by .1" to bump compression slightly. THen there is a header flowing through 2.5" Exhaust to a high flow cat into a Flowmaster 2.5"in/Dual 2"out. No its not loud likr those other RICERS it has a tone to it unless you get above 5000RPMs.
All said I should be pusing around about 160HP in a 2700lb car with gearing equilvalent to a 4.33 rear gear(If it would be rear wheel drive, but its not. I calculated this by MPH RPM as if my 4th gear would be a 1:1 ratio in the Tranny).
Suspension I have added Springs(can't remember the brand right now because Its the only thing I ever got from them) Whick lowered it only 1" thats it 1". Shocks that match the springs rate. Poly urethane bushing. Strut tower Brace in the Front and a rear stabilizer bar also. Then to top it all off I had a friend custom weld me a short through shifter which is installed in the factory bood and has the factor ****.
Consistent 15.5's. Sorry no time slips to post, but I will get them as sson as the track opens this spring. I can't wait to get the T/A out there and see what it will do.
Why do you hate to say I actually have a good looking Trans Am?

Because you're a lil punk @$$ Beyatch. Bye the way, my friends Civic has 174 HP, but I forgot, your Escort could beat him and outhandle him couldnt' it? And I'll bet your escort looks better too. Bye the way, he's runnin 13's w/ over $5000 worth of Stereo/Video Equipment in it too. He's runnin the 1/4 watchin DVD's in his car man. Top that. And if you don't believe this, I can send you the dyno sheet, and the slip to prove it.

OK guys after a long run I have been asked by a few board members to lock this post b/c and I quote:

"It really has denigrated into
almost 200 posts involving "a glorified **** fight". Whatever tech was involved has become "well my car can beat your car"."

That about sums up the request I have been receiving. So by popular demand this is locked.

Hey like I said I am only guessing numbers here. I did it just for fun anyways. And I got the 5 HP from this in the tech section.... After doing this myself on my engine (88' 350 TPI) I noticed a difference in the throttle responce right away, as far as horsepower, well I've heard you may get 5 additional HP out of this.

True he has a V8 but it shouldnt matter on this mod. But yea I doubt it will put out 2 HP let alone 5. But thats what the man said.
