How do the 3.1 V6's compare to 5speed EX civics?
How do the 3.1 V6's compare to 5speed EX civics?
I know a friend of mine had a ragged out 84firebird that smoked, he had a flow muffler and Open Air Element. He raced a guy he worked with's 98civic EX 5speed and the firebird got the jump in 1st but in 2nd the civic started to slowly pull him then they got off of it. I think the EX's run like mid to high 16's at around 82-84mph. I guess they are in the 95-98 3.8 mustang class or so?

EX's are more like low 16s I think, with the Si's getting into low 15s. Considering his 'bird was running as poorly as you say it was, its amazing a carbed 2.8 could even do what it did!

While on the subject on our V6s vs. Hondas I'd like to know how my 2.8 would stand against a 1990 Honda Accord LX. Both cars are automatic. Just curious b/c my gf says her car would smoke mine, but she's afraid to race. Go figure

Sorry for the missing info, it was an LG4 305. I know that with some mods that the 3.1 could keep up with the 3.4 and he edged out one in that car. Just trying to get a feel for how fast a 3.1 is stock.

not sure about an accord, but i spanked my friends 1989 Integra with a 5 speed. Mine's an auto to, he could even get the good jump. I think he had a 2.0L 4 cyl.
Yeah 245ft/lbs at like 2400rpms and 145-155hp (depending on year and application) at like 4200rpms. The open air element gains about 10 hp and the muffler maybe 5hp So he probably had about 150HP considering his car was blowing smoke. We Gteched his car at 0-60mph in 9 Flat with two people in it. So about 8.7-8.8 seconds with just driver and all his junk out the car. The car felt decently quick.

That's damn good considering an '84 Berlinetta LG4 305 0-60 is 9.3 sec brand new!
