Seafoaming it through the PCV valve
Seafoaming it through the PCV valve
Has anyone done this to their V6? I have.. a few times! Runs.. well...

Has anyone else done it, and how did it go? And did you use "Seafoam?" works very well.
I sprayed the living **** out of my carb again and well im gonna take it somewhere to get looked at since someone suspected i might have a "cracked rear bowl" for "occasional" gas leak and smell ?

Re: Seafoaming it through the PCV valve
Never seafoamed through the PCV before, only the brake booster line. I suppose doing it through the PCV might help clean it out... But then again they're only like $5 to replace...
Re: Seafoaming it through the PCV valve
Were you able to get your brake booster line back on with no issue? Mine on my Olds was somewhat stubborn... And it appears to have NEVER been removed
Was yours easy or almost impossible to pop back on and off? And did you use a screwdriver? or a penetrating lube?

Yeah the line comes on and off no problem. Just pull it off the little plastic 90* elbow that does into the booster.

Re: Seafoaming it through the PCV valve
Normally with Seafoam I put 1/3 in the gas, 1/3 down the brake booster vacuum line into the intake (have to rev the motor a little as you pour it slowly because it will have a vacuum leak with the line off), and I pour the rest into the oil. I let the car warm up and then change the oil. My mother-in-law did not change her oil for 2 years or so in her Bonneville. The oil looked horrible. It smoked like crazy after I put seafoam in it. It then developed a valve cover gasket leak (probably broke up the gunk around it) so I replaced that also.

Re: Seafoaming it through the PCV valve
I thought the kind with the spray nozzle through the intake helped free some lost power.
