2.8 heads

hey all,
Im a newbie. I was wondering if the 2.8 aliuminum heads from a 89 front driver would work on an 87 2.8? It would seem they are lighter and could get better flow from them. any thoughts?

They'll work, but they're not a bolt-on. You'd need to change the pistons inside the motor! Iron-headed v6's have flat-top pistons. Aluminum-headed v6's have pistons with valve reliefs cut into them. If you don't use the relieved pistons with the aluminum heads, the original pistons will smack the valves.

You are correct, though, Darren, about them being lighter, and getting better flow from them.
