And i did NOT Hydrolock it!! i took a good half a gallon of water, ptu some down fromt choke throat, revved it up, then dribbled water down back carb throat. Egine shook, my hand was on throttle, i actually put a LOT down it ONCE, to the point i worrie,d and held throttle wide open.. one second of sheer "ogm i thought i killed the engine" (down fromt throat) but i did it three times over an hour period, road drove it every time, and wow it seems liek its better!

No start-up smoke as of yet
nice and smooth
radiator cap seems cooler (!)

... yeah i used a pint the first time, a quart the second, and a half gzllon of water the last time! Down the carb, while running, good and clean.

i will report back if it starts actign up, so we can maybe speculate what needs

but WOW, my first tie.. and MAN, was that fun! Except for that 1.5 seconds of "Oh no MY ENGINE!!!" and WOT.. and it came back *phew*

.. is it possible i cleaned up an obstruction of some kkind and my car may in fact run much better now ? Ill report back in any case..

Steam removes carbon build up so yes it will clean your engine but you run the risk of bending a valve or push rod. You should change your oil after you do this. Also another old time trick was to pour a small amount of atf down the carb while its running to clean stuff too.
