Help finding an engine

I've been scouring the forums, paper, and craigslist to no avail in my search for a 3.4L FWD V6. Wanted to know if anyone knows of a site or source I haven't tapped into. (not sure if Ebay is reliable)

Re: Help finding an engine

Today the newer 3.4s are like the 350s in the 70s, GM puts them in everything. Most good JYs can get an engine from another JY if they do a search on their network.
Sometimes I'll go on Craigslist & look outside my area for parts, so I might have to drive a couple hours to get what I want.

Wouldn't you need a RWD if you have a camaro?
And where do you live?

I want the FWD because it's a slightly better engine, this is called a hybrid swap. You can search the forums for KED85's 3.4L engine swap and all the info you'd need to do it.

Re: Help finding an engine

have you tried car-part.com? that site usually helps me find the parts i need, or at least gets me the relative junkyard that might have parts. just search any year car that had the FWD motor

If you are in WA, Pick N Pull (formerly Pull-A-Part) almost always has 3400s.

You don't need or even want the entire engine, though, you just need the heads and intake.

I didn't know you were doing a hybrid. Good luck in your search.

You are wrong about pretty much all of that, unless you have a rwd 60/6 that you plan to put the 3400 top end onto.
Putting a fwd engine in your car isn't a hybrid swap...its just an engine swap, the swap articles on this board for the 3.4 are for the rwd version, not the fwd version.

I guess I had the idea of the hybrid swap being that you take out the FWD and convert it to RWD wrong, oh well.
