Overheating-please help

I am new here. I've had my Camaro for about 6 months and haven't had any major problems. I just got a flowmaster 80 series put on a couple days ago. And yesterday i was driving her and the temp. just kept rising past the red line. I put antifreeze in the other day and it was gone the next day. I dont know what it is. I think that it might be the water pump or a crack in the block. any help would be great. thanks.

Look for drips or puddles to see where your leak is. Look around the thermostat housing, belts, radiator, or block. Check to make sure that your oil does not look milky either. That will narrow down your problem.

I checked the oil and it doesnt look milky. But it is unusually high for some reason. It smells like oil. I cant smell any antifreeze in it. And there aren't any puddles underneath the car that i can see. Idont know.

get your coolant system checked by a mechanic, they have a special tool for leakage. You say your oil more than before?
looks like coolant goes in the oil. Could be the headgasket
tell us the news, and good look

trust me, youll know if your water/oil is mixing, not only will your oil be grey and milky in color, but check your water for oil floating on the top.. chances are you just have a leak somewhere.. does the car smoke at all? and was is overheating before you added coolant?

Well today was an exciting day for me. i went to bring my car to the garage to be fixed today. i threw some antifreeze in before i left. After the 45 minutes that it took to get her out of the snow. She ran cool for that time that she was running. There was no smoke anywhere. still no leaks. As soon as i got her moving the gauge started going up and wouldnt stop. after two minutes it was above the red line. Then i stalled. Then it overheated again two blocks from the garage. Still no smoke. I had her towed to the garage and now i'm waiting to see what is wrong with her.

what i was kinda getting at was, when you were adding antifreeze was it diluted? if your antifreeze/water mix is too strong, it becomes too thick to pass thru the small openings in the rad, causing it to overheat, and boil off some antifreeze seeming as if it were a leak.. also air trapped in your system can cause overheating to the point of boilover (coolant litterly boils so hard it spews out of the jug, then once it cools off the level goes back down...

Well i just found out that i have been driving with a crackd head gasket for a long time and now i am in need of a new engine. Water has been leaking it the engine for months. So the Maro is gonnabe out for a while. If anyone knows where i can get a new engine or used engine without it costing me a fortune it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

That sux dude. I had a head gasket go on the 93 Mercury Sable I was driving last friday. As for the engine, I'd say try to find a 3.4 out of a 93/94 F'body.
