Wondering if this could be the reason why my 87 SC idles rough, and has a diesel type sound when accelerating. The SES light only comes on after I've been driving for a while, which I've learnt is how the EGR system works. I havent begun troubleshooting how to fix it yet, but could this be making my car run like crap? Thanks.

I had the same problem in my 86 and my girlfriends 86, and both times it was the vacuum line going to the egr control solenoid. the line is the hard plastic type and is easily broken or knocked off. If you cant find the solenoid, trace the the vacuum line from the egr valve back until you get to the solenoid, it is hard to see where it plugs in, you have to look closely.

code 32.
Fault in barometric pressure sensor circuit or
Fault in exhaust gas recirculation valve diagnostic switch
or
Fault in electronic vacuum regulator valve,
good luck.
it's not always one reason
