I've got an '88 2.8 5-speed that I'm trying to get smogged. It has a small miss from idle up to about 3000 rpms. I've replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and set the timing dead on at 10 degrees. I've also run fuel injector cleaner through it. No vaccuum leaks either. The car has been sitting for awhile, but I don't know what else to check. The car only has 106k miles. Any ideas?

I'm young, and not to sure when it comes to this stuff, but we had an old Celebrity that had that problem, and I remeber it had a warped valve, so we hadthe valves ground, and the warped one replaced, and reseated them. Tha brought the compression back up, as well took the miss out.

When you swapped the plugs did you notice anything abnormal about one? Usually a missing cyl's plug will come out fouled, usually oil fouled. It's probably due to a low compression situation... rings, valve guides, bad valve, etc.
