mod question

What would happen if I removed the plastic plate thats underneath the airbox? Do you think the air deflector would help push more air into the airbox. Is that plate there to help cool the radiator?

I believe it is simply a splash guard...I don't see a reason why you can't remove it. And yes, it would help airflow.

Those black things are air silencers (if you own a Camaro). Yes, it does help air flow to remove tehm. Also you can drill up to six 1/2" holes in the bottom to help increase the air flow. When I did this to mine, it pulled a lot harder around 3000 rpm. Very good free mod to do!

Wait a minute...I know all about the air silencers IN the airbox. I thought what HIX was talking about was the plastic panel, UNDER the airbox...is this what you're referring to HIX?

Wow. I removed the panel and the silencers. Drilled six 1/4 inch holes, there was a noticable difference.
