Well, what do you wanna know? Wanna know how I think it looks? If I want one? If it'd be fast? If it's a POS?

Just wondering Kev

Monkie, dont get a convertible. They cant stand as much, when you get some more power to it!!

By the way sorry about the motorcycle accident. Also what happened to the 3.8 turbo project?

Garmer! Man where you been? I thought you ditched us. Good to see ya back. Yea the bike accident sucked. Never seen someone die in front of me . I just want a 4th gen. No really good reason, just like the looks. I still love the 3rds! Just want something new. And yea the 3.8L was gonna happen and IF I dont get a 4th then the turbo is still gonna happen .

Monkie, i never left. Ive mainly been at the car audio board. I ve been here quite alot actually. I was almost in an accident that almost killed me (when i was 11), so i know how ya feel! I love 4th gens as well, but i think Corvettes are my favorte. Personally if i had money for that I would go w/ the turbo!!!

Well if you want a convertible go ahead with te 4th gen V6, but if you want to actually go fast keep your thirdgen and do the 3.8 Turbo project. Because you will not be able to make the convertible as fast as your third gen for the same price. This is because you will need to add more bracing and such. Do what you want, but I think i might trade in a V6 third genner for a 4th genner like the one in the pic, but thats just what I would do. You have to do what will make you happy.

Actually scratch the one above. Look at this ****!

Something like that but a Z28. I love those roadster covers!

Actually Garmer, you are right. It is gonna cost me alot just to get the car! Let alone the stuff for it. Like the roadster covers, LT4 heads, etc... Im thinking for a 60,000 mile convertable 1994-1997 Z28 I can find it for about $12,000 up to $15,000. But it is going to be an early graduation present.

the 4th gen camaros look to plain for me, but when you add some ground effects and lower them its a whole new car . I;'d personally get a Z28 if I were you, just think how hard its going to be getting all the parts for the 3.8 turbo.

Monkie your just like me, your never satisified. If you get the 4th gen you will miss your thirdgen, or can you keep your third gen?
If you are willing to pay so much for the newer camari, just think of what you could do to your thirdgen. Just an Idea. THough a convertible would be fun. I have been through thias so many times and I still have the good ol' 86 Trans Am.
Its a hard decision and I think you will be kicking around different ideas for a while, my advice is you got a cool car for now so hold off until you decide what you REALLY want to do.

Im looking at this realistically. IF by some chance I did keep my third I WOULD do the turbo swap. But I thought about the swap and is it really REALLY worth it? I will have to FIND a drivetrain from a 86-87 GN or from a TTA and then when or if I find it I will have to come up with the money for it. And there are sooo many things you can do for a 4th gen. Look at the body kits, cold air intake. I mean ****, what is there for our car? Especially our V6s. True there is alot for the TPI engines. But what about the third gen in a whole? Not too much, no good ground effects other than the stock ones. I just dont think it is worth the trouble for the turbo swap. And then, can I do it? Ok lets say I got the engine and tranny and all. Will I be able to put it in? MAYBE with the help from this kool guy I talk to. But he lives in NY. A long *** way from here. I can go on and on bitching but the fact is your right Im not gonna be happy and Im sure when I sell my sweet third gen I will regret it alot of ****ing times because it took me several years to find it. Oh well, new car time.

I with monkie that Hood is an eye sore. Also change you head light lining back to black. It looks like you car was in a wreck and the body shop didn't know what they were doing. I never did like the front of a camaro with the lights lining painted body color.
Though the wheels and GFX look sweet

*disclaimer* Its not my car do with it what you wish, as long as it makes you happy.

Hey Monkie whats up.Sorry to hear you don't want to try the 3.8 swap. But those fourth gens are real sweet, especially a Z28 convertable.

BTW,you mentiioned you wanted a stick(and I know your car is a stick)but if you want to go fast(ie drag race)you might want to look into an automatic.Just an opinion, but with an auto the rear will last alot longer, the shifts are positive, and with a nice PE converter you will be launching a whole lot harder than a stick.

Anyway,keep in touch

Steve

Hey whats up Steve, long time no talk. Yea I just kinda looked at the 3.8L swap realistically and I didn't think I could do it. And I know if I did it that it would be a hell of alot faster than my LT1 soon to be. But I agree, I thought about the whole "manual is faster than the automatic" thing and I think its the other way around. And this is comming from someone that has a manual. I mean when you go to shift and youre racing an auto he just keeps going when you let off the gas. I dont want a manual or auto more than the other on my new car Im just gonna get whatever I can. Like if I find a good condition silver convertable Z28 with ground effects Im getting it if its a manual or auto, it doesnt matter. But I do kinda hate that Im not doing the RS turbo thing. MAN, that was a killer idea. But Steve, you'll be proud of me. Even though I decided not to do the swap I talked someone else into doing it. He has a 91 camaro and he is doing exactly what I was gonna do. Who knows, maybe I wont get a LT1 and just buy a 92 RS turbo . Later man, talk to ya soon.
