Im was looking at getting some 3.73's out of summit but im not sure what type of rear end i have? I have replaced it with one from another car but im not sure if it was a V6 or the 305 TBI? Are they the same casing?

Yep, all 82-92 F-bodies received the same rear axle casing.

Some early F-bodies (i think 82-84) got a 7 5/8 inch ring gear instead of a 7 1/2 inch ring, but I believe they're both swappable with each other. Do you remember the year of the donor car?
