I almost died tonight
Me and my frineds were driving nad ts been raining for about 3 days and i was on a windy road and i hit a turn in all ok i wana slde well i slid a little then my car went sideways for 30 feet on a 2 lane road then at the end we did a 180 and while i was sideways the other lane had a enbankment annd a bigg drop i almsot went over it but i stopeed like right on the edge i was all oh **** we r gonna go over and flip thank god we didnt. It was the mostscarest thing thats EVER happend to me cuz i couldnt regain control at all and there was a pole we missed that by 2 feet and the car behind us stoped and thyey were all damn. And they said they didnt see headlights and all of the sudden they saw them again i was seriousley thinking oh **** im gonna kill my car. Never again will i do that in the rain and you could see how far i skidded and everything all my frinds were all COOOL im all like about to **** my self lol. I was more worried about my car then myself.

I did that in my 1966 Corvette.
Only hit tree and I killed it.
I cried, only time, over loosing my Baby.
I learned after that, it's only (fiberglass) metal, but an investment & personal effort from you heart.
I'm more important.
Next time that happens, simple.
SLAM IT INTO NEUTRAL!
You'll stop skidding instantly! and can still steer!
Practice in large shopping parking lots.
Used to do this all the time back east. Now I practice at the beach parking lots.
But, no need to now, I've gotten very good at it. Learn to hit shifter with elbow as you are steering thru skid.
When you hit black ice, that's scary!
Glad your eyes were opened and all is/were ok.
Try my suggestion in/on an empty parking lot.
Evasive driving is the best thing you can learn in life & on the road. If a cop stops you, tell him the truth, you are learning how to control your car in a safe environment and about your scare that night. You'll be ok. Worked all the time back east!
That's why I race drive, to drive safer on the road. Bunch of idiots out here in CA, that can't even drive in the daylight/sunshine! Sad, but true observation.
