I finally got me a Camaro!!!
I finally got me a Camaro!!!
Got my Camaro!!! FINALLY!! Cant drive it though. Dont have the title or insurance on it yet.
I originally was told it had 109k miles on it,but it turns out it only has 70k miles on it. Its an '89 RS 5 speed.
It needs a new carpet, headliner, and new seats or maybe just some seatcovers cause some ******* razor knifed my front seats all up,but I dont think they touched the back seats. I have to get this car a full tune up and put some super unleaded gas in it after I replace the fuel and oil filters on it.
It has a mild case of lot rot after its been sitting like it was for a few months. The hood needs to be re-aligned,doors need new pins,I have to figure out what this big button does thats right under the headlight switch. I also have to clean it all up and prolly sink about 40o bucks into it to make it into a really nice ride, but I cant complain.
The BEST $600 I've EVER spent.
The instrument panel is MINT! No clouded or foggy plastic gauge covers. All the gauges work. Just needs some good TLC.

Right on,
I just got my Firebird Yesterday, so were kinda in the same boat.
The big button, do you have a battrey in your car??? If you don't you may not notice but it could be a horn (I've seen alot of horns break and this is the fast cheap way to replace) If thats not it, I am lost.
Yeah, my car has a mint interior, except drivers seat, tears all through it, and the motor is hard to keep running (something tells me it is just a bad case of rotton gas)
Congrates on the purchase,

The button migh been there for various things like Driving lights, Neon undeer the car, or well any accesory that needs a switch. Look for odd looking wires coming out from the firewall and follow them. That might give you an Idea of what they were for. As far as the seats go, it shouldn't be too much to get them recovered.

Congrat's on the buy, RS'er! I agree with Kyle.. trace the wires. If you're lucky, maybe there's a tell-tale hole in the firewall with the same wires poking through it, which would make hunting them down a lot easier.
