LOL Glen...no, I didn't think YOU were gonna flame me, I was just making a general statement about 6's. I thought people were gonna bitch that I called them a great "starter sports car."

My insurance is $1075 a year for full coverage(just paid it 1 lump sum..yippee ), and that's with no tickets or accidents after 4 years with a license. My first 3 years though, it would have been $2100 if I had had the car

If I didn't carry collision, I could get it for $675 and still have fire and theft. But with the way people drive around here, collision is staying.

SlowCamaro,

Forget the weight in the back...it'll mess up your springs and make the car even slower.

Get some studded snows for the back, and regular snows for the front. TRUST ME when I say it works!! My car went nowhere on stock tires, and now I'm out in everything, and haven't gotten stuck. And yes, New England winters are every bit as bad

Kyle F...the pet peeve of the V6 board.

Nobody asked him to be here, no one cares what he has to say...hell, he doesn't even have a V6.

Why are you here? Sure, its a free country (and a free board too), but why don't you go harrass some V8 guys?

Hehe I like Kyle. He's the jackass that everyone loves to unite and make fun of. Or as I like to call them...He's the Beyatch of the group. Stay around Kyle, we really LOVE laughing at your dumb @$$. I mean, sure, an Escort really will outhandle a RS. Oh guys, did you also know that a Yugo has more torque, HP, better handling, and better skidpad than a Lamborghini Diablo VT? Oh, and not only that, it looks better too, and gets ALL the ladies. Oh ****, I forgot, I'm in Kyle's world again, guess I better get back to reality. I guess if you own an Escort, you have to be a little delusional. I mean after all, it is a piece of shiznit. And Kyle, yes if you sank 5000 or so into it, it could beat us, but you started all of this stuff on yourself by telling Monkie that he couldn't beat a GT, when you WEREN'T there to see it. So, I'm telling you that you can't beat ANYTHING, because I'm not there to see it.

I'm 20, and have both a v6 and v8 The Trans Am was a deal I couldn't resist!

I believe I pay ~800$ CDN a year for full collision, 100$ deductible, theft, fire etc. on the Firebird through my parents policy....

As for the Trans Am... the insurance company is eyeing that one really viciously. I've only just started quoting policies and it isn't pretty! Almost 2500$ CDN for liabilty and theft!!!!!

OUCH!

Anybody know of any insurance tricks to lower my rates? Maybe if I insure the Trans Am and the Firebird on the same policy? Put my girlfriend on? What are the insurance tricks?

22 here.

Engines are kinda heavy when it comes time to throw overboard, but I can pick that escort up and toss it no problem. I did have to buy a tarp for it though because people kept making fun of my ugly *** boat anchor.

They will never know I have one. If you dont tell them you put in a different engine, how will they know? They wont. And plus it IS a V6 so its not like I didnt tell them my car has a V6.

Would have my 86 2.8 farther along, but I bought a 2000 Grand Am SE2. Nice car, but I miss the Camaro.

i'm 19 going on 20 shortly..
i have a 91 Z28 convertible

Insurance on it for me is only 1100 a year for full coverage, with only 1 ticket for 10 over about a year ago.. and I still get the good student discount I was paying around 900 a year on my parrents policy but that ended when I was 19..

my first car was actualy a bike.. i bought a 98 Katana SS 600 brand new in 98.. got hit by a truck less than 3 months later his fault though

For everybody under 21.. you need to check with multiple insurance companies.. state farm quoted me at 2600 a year for my car.. after checking alot of others, desmond brothers (i think they are CNA) quoted me for 1100.. and they have higher coverage than state farm does..

save some money and get alota quotes!!!
