alright yall here goes
im the youngest here with a V8 91 RS. dad brought it in late 1990 for my mom, mom hated the ride after a couple years and gave it to my dad while she took a 93 blazer....dadgot tired of driving it everyday for 5 years...parents got divorced and the camaro was the least valuble of the two ..... sep. 2000 my dad buys a '01 Dodge dakota quad cab loaded out with all the options except 4x4, leather, and six way power seat(already have it reserved for promn )so now i finally am the onwer of a very nicely kept(i mean like we babied the car since we got it), one owner, V8 peice of american muscle and for what price you ask? A 3.0 GPA, and the fact that i have to pay the extra 130 bucks a month for insurance when i get a job in a week or so. oh yeah i knew i was gonna get the car since i was 12...im 15 now bwhahahahah (oh yeah im not a rich little daddy's boy either so back off all you "playa haters",ie:kyle f)

[quote] hey monkie u checked insurance rates on t'3.8's? before i did it i checked and its EXPENSIVE!!
dont know if the quote will work but oh well.......um yeah insurance will be high, buuuut here in florida they go by the VIN number not by what you say...soooo if i were to put a new 502 big block into the car, drive to the insurance office and park the car outside their window with a bulging 6 inch cowl induction, and you can get away with telling them you just brought the hood for looks then they'll ask for the vin and they'll go by that and what you say

Well, since the thread isn't locked yet ( ), I guess I'll respond. I'm 17, and today (Jan. 28th) is my one year anniversary with my 'maro... I got her some fuzzy dice and a vanilla air freshener... and for Valentine's Day, I think I'm gonna take off her wheels and give them a good polishing. Of course, I'll probably give my girlfriend something too... maybe....

BAH! i say! V6? if ur gona get an F BOD get an 8! mines in pretty good shape and i got it for 4500 bones. it does make sense to get a 6 for a 1st car tho i would have killed myself if i had my current car 1st. there is one simple fact tho.... 3rd gen 6 cylinders are SLOOOOOW my 1st car was a 95' grand am gt, it was quick, it would probably beat 2.8s too. It didnt have ***** tho and thats why i have my car now
by the way,

But lived being a kid, when many here wish you could have.
During the horsepower wars of the 60s & cheap golden age high horsepower cars cars of the first gas crisis 70's.
Still a kid for my kid, 5 months old

How can anyone think of ragging on anyone playing with these V-6s?

U want us to play with RICECAKES instead?
Go away & rag on others, elsewhere, dip$hit.

This place is great

Couldn't have pulled off my freight train (I see a visit to the computer store coming ) swap without these guys!

Can't wait to meet the SoCal guys at a cruise night at Bob's in Burbank or Cruisers in Northridge, as soon as it stops raining! Hope I can make the first drags at Pomona, soon.
Let's see how fast a V-6 will do!

youre gonna tell me that you would rather have V6 that preys on the sick and dying streetracers instead of having a car that could really compete on the street scene....like a Z. I could care less that you like your V6- good for you, but you've taken it to an obsession.....its like because you dont have a V8, they must be S H I T. I like the V6 board because I like all camaros, but its ignorant to deny the truth that is the V8. Every time someone says that the V6 is an "until then" motor you act like they have a screw loose. Im not saying its right that someone says why waste your time with a V6, but you cant just not understand where theyre coming from. And dont gimme that **** about how I can get off YOUR board if I dont like it, I like seeing whats going on around here just like on all the other boards

No its just I bought my V6 because it was in awsome condition and I have yet to find a V8 or V6 around here in my condition so I would rather have a perfect V6 than a POS V8. And my V6 isnt that slow to start with so I have nothing to say bad about it. Unlike you and your V8 guys that say "Ohhh Im a big V8 guy and Im all kool cause I have a V8 and you dont." I mean woopy ****ing do! I can get a V8 anytime but I dont have the money for a gas sucker. So I will keep my V6. Oh and in the future why dont you and anyother V8 guy that wants to slam V6s keep OFF the V6 board. <-- man you guys really give me a reason to put this face up ALOT. Jesus!

Why waste time on a V6?! Originality.... Everyone I know asks me, "Why don't you throw a 8 in there, since you're swapping motors anyway?" Well, other than the cost issue, I prefer to be unique. A V6 is fine for the silly little street races against the "badass" ricers, and it still gets 20mpg. And I'll tell you what, anybody that pulls up next to a TTA, revs on it thinking, "It's only a sixer..." and then proceeds to get there *** kicked, THAT'S why we bother with sixes... Because it says just that much more about our skill as drivers and car lovers... just remember, anyone can make a quick V8, only an artist can make a quick V6.

Hey Monkie, you misunderstood what i posted before. I was just repeating the question that someone else had posted before me. Sorry for the mix up i probably should have quoted it or something. I dont have anything against V6s, i own 3 camaros with 2.8s. I would just like something a lil faster. i mean a camaro that gets to 60 mph in 10 seconds should not be given the name Camaro at all. If there are Chevy Ventures smoking 6s that should tell you something about your cars performance. i know alot of you have modded your 6s so im not saying that all 6s are slow. just saying that i would like something with a lil more power in my opinion.

youre the dumbass monkie, why dont you pull your head out of your *** and listen to the words coming out of my mouth. Asking you what you would rather have is not slamming the V6, you refuse to listen to anyone and then you complain that everyone is an *******! Maybe if you didnt think that everyone was against you it wouldnt seem that way!

oh, and by the way if I was gonna bitch about a car, hopefully I wouldnt own it....thats the idea behind it!

V6's may be slower, but you can't beat 30+ mpg (sans O2 sens.) in an 8 (at least not without MAJOR tuning)

No I just dont get it why all the V8 guys gotta bring up the "why buy a V6 over a V8" subject. Its stupid! If everyone owned a IROC or GTA then the world would be boring as ****. Now if you wanna be all big and bad all call me all these names and tell me to pull my head out of my *** . Good for u. I could care less. I refuse to listen to anyone...now where did you get this from? I listen to you talk stupid ****. So I dont see the me not listening part. But whatever dude, you are 100% right V6s suck a V8 rule the streets! Too bad I know of some V6s and 4 bangers that can take alot of V8s. But you know they cant suck up gas as fast as your mighty V8. But I dont want this post to get locked so would you please stop with the monkie slamming, cause it wont work. Im like a bitch, Im right and you're wrong. So just stop trying. If it makes you happy...you got me man, im a woman and I drive a V6. Where is the gun!? I need to shoot myself! later bro!

Different things for different people. Right now I have no need for a car that goes from 0-60 in 4 secs. Like I said different things for different people. And no hard feeling taken or sent you ya. Just glad you know what you are talking about. But I dont know any 3rd gen that is "fast". I take that back, there is a fast 3rd gen, but it happens to be a V6. No IROC I know is fast. I mean 240HP....WOOOO too bad they couldnt catch the mustangs.

Hey Monkie...you dont know any fast IROCs? Irocs Cant catch the Mustangs? what proof or facts are you goin on when you say those things? well i guess your just saying your opinions, right monkie? so if you can voice your opinion then why do you complain everytime someone tries to put in their 2 cents? O and i know many IROCs here in Jerzey that smoke GTs. but im not criticizing just telling you what i think. later!

Pass one produced a 15.96/86.46.

back-up pass yielded a 16.43/84.74

Mustang LX
The first pass went up in smoke and resulted in a 15.71/89.28 mph.

for the second run but only produced a 15.70/88.75

ok so from the track Mustangs have better 1/4 times by a miliseconds. i would highly doubt that the mustang would have an advantage over the camaro when their times are so close.

anyone who believes those times is an idiot, there are countless people here with stock L98s that went high 14s stock. I would hope you would believe your fellow thirdgenners before some magazine that got special test cars. Just because monkie doesnt know any fast IROCs doesnt mean they dont exist.....we've all seen how open minded he is. Fact is that he just cant stand the thought someone else having a BETTER car than HIS. Not saying that car is mine, but they do exist. Just because your 3.1 cant beat GTs doesnt mean that the L98 cant compete monkie.

Hey monkie, Vortec's car looks better and is WAY FU(KING faster. When you run 12's, then talk sh*t. By the way I went to your website, lose the whitewalls, stickers, and manza tips. You also have a big nose.

Does he really have a better car than me!? Ugh,..Im gonna cry! So a better car is a faster one? Lmao pretty stupid man. Im sorry but I got no complaints about my car and if you do then good thing you dont got it! Oh and about me having a big nose, you know what else I got that is big? Just open your mouth and you'll find out. And yes the IROCs are slow. Yes faster than me but I never sat here and said mine is fast. 14s on the 1/4 isnt fast. Like you said when they hit the 12s then they can talk. But you nasty girls dont need to take MY post off topic because you dont agree with me. Thanks alot ladies. Later

No, it's not cool, this message should be locked NOW. You'd never see this happen in the Tech section, and thats why we get all these morons in here.

Well said Tom. Calling people names and trashing other's cars isn't helping anyone or making anyone here look cool. In fact, it's making you all look like jack@$$es.

Monkie, those tests suck!!!

All the tests I see have the 91 (350's) in the mid 14's along with the LX Mustangs!

Those guys probably can't drive..
