Crossflow Flowmaster Sound
Crossflow Flowmaster Sound
Does anyone have the dual outlet 2.5 with 2.5 inlet crossflow style on your V6. I wanted to know how it sounded. Is it close to the sound of a V8 or what is it? Im just curious. Because im getting mine installed

It will absolutely sound like a small V8. I had a Flowmaster dual chamber on my old 2.8 and it sounded NICE at idle and I cant remember how many people were asking me what sort of V8 I had in it.

SuperZ, maybe you should worry less about our V6 motors, and worry more about how you're going to shift a manual trans without cutting a hole for the shifter.

I dunno, superz, I've seen some pretty slow v8s.. and even made them look like idjits at a light.. but I've also been annihilated by a TRD MR-2 (that little thing scares me now), and that whole 6 sounding like an 8 bit, I dunno.. my car's pretty loud for a 6, and I've even had mechanics think it was an 8, but put a loud 6 next to a loud 8 and they just sound like 2 cars with loud exhaust =P

The V6 can sound like a V8 at low RPM's. Most of your V6 cars are probably as loud as my 8 at idle because of the piece of **** quietflow muffler with 2 1/4 inch tailpipes that the previous owner put on there, but as soon as the rev's start to climb, you can tell the difference.

Mines sounds pretty deep at idle but u can still tell it from an 8. And yeah there is a bigg difference once the rpms rise.

my car has a very deep bass at idle too, and sounds pretty nice till nearly 3k. But pass that and things start to sound like a v6 again, very whiney. I've got a buddy who had a 1990 T/A with a 305TPI, when he got it and had the stock style muffler on it, the car had absolutely no sound, then he upgraded to glass and it sounded good, then he got a Warlock and ran it with the pipe open all the time, and it sounded awesome. My car is louder than his was with stock exaust, and is still pretty loud for a 6. Actually, when i got my oil changed last week, and drove into Valvoline, the guys in the pit were arguing whether or not mine was v6 or v8. One said, "That's a 305, listen to it." the other said, "No, that's just a 40 series, but it sounds good." I got out and told em both it was a 6 with stock pipes. The one still said it sounded good though. Anyway, just my .02. Heck, just think though, the flowmaster won't sound anyworse than stock,
so it's a win-win situaion. unless it falls off on the highway, and gets ran over by a tractor trailer, then you'd louse.
