car dies immediately after starting or taking foot off pedal to brake
I have an 85 2.8 mpfi and my battery went dead so i put a new one in after having the old one tested, I already know my maf sensor is gone so i started it how i ussually do after its been sitting for a couple days i start it instantly rev it put it in drive and go around the block for 15 minutes to warm it up for the day, except this time instead of it sputting then dieing it just dies instantly, as soon as i take my foot off the accelerator it dies instantly less than 6 months ago i had all my wires cap and rotor and plugs replaced so I am stumped for ideas I heard it could be my egr valve, or it could still be a maf sensor problem but im stumped

Start with what you know is bad....replace the MAF, if it still does it then we can try to help narrow it down, probably if not the MAF its carbon buildup around throttle plate, IAC, o2 sensor, fuel pump or a vacuum leak.

Or could it maybe be the TPS? My 88 Bird did that too and once I replaced the TPS I havent had that problem.
