Guess what I get to do this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since summer I've had a oil leak.I had determined it was leaking around the distributer.I was going thru a quart every 2 or 3 weeks.I checked my oil last Wednesday and it was just touching the stick.I had to add 2 quarts to get it in the safe zone.Since Wed. I've gone thru a quart a day.Saturday I pulled the distributer and replaced the o-ring.Which by the way was hard as a rock.I also added a gasket between the block and the distributer base. Oil leak fixed? I think not!

I was told the 2.8's were notorious for the intake gasket to leak oil around the distributer area. This truly sucks with a capital S!
The oil leak had slowed some but not much.It only leaks when the engine is running.

So...this Sat I get to pull the damn intake.Oh what FUN,FUN,FUN,!

I had planned on replacing the valve cover gaskets but since I'm going to tear it down that far I might as well pull the intake.Anyone want to help?????

Don't have too much fun with it! If your coolant passages look anything like the way my friend's "good" 2.8 did, this message might help you: https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/006044.html

Thanks for the info Tom.I couldn't talk ya into coming west and give me a hand could I??????????

It won't take long to get it all off.I just hate to tear it all down agian.More then anything, I hate having to lean over so far.
It will take 20 minutes to have it apart, but only 10 for my back and legs to hurt

Are you sure its not your oil pressure sending unit? I know i was going crazy a little while back trying to find my leak, and after a few hours of looking under my car and getting pissed, i noticed a little bit of oil coming from the seal on the oil pressure sending unit. A quick ride to autozone, 20 bucks, and 5 minutes worth of labor was all it took. I don't know if you already checked there, but if u haven't, I would. Just my .02
