Another snag.....
Ok, I switched balancers, and it helped a lot with the vibration. But the car still has no power at all (like get up and go power, not electrical...), and it does still vibrate. I'm thinking timing.... I also read somewhere that you have to disconnect something to get the timing set right. Do I? If so, which wire?

I did mine by siight and ear.
I recalled where it was, before the swap.
Then I made sure it was in the same spot.
Got is to idle, then played with the timing, twisting, listening, then back it a bit from "perfect". No light yet.
PLEASE, I DO NOT WANT TO SAY IT, flexplate.

I know!!
In my situation, it was the Mass Air Flow Sensor that was destroying the timing advancing.
I swapped that (it threw out the code for that) and I now burn rubber, yea, peg leg, but, now going sideways!
Test chain is REAL EASY.
Pull off cap, put crank socket on crank nose, rotate, watch difference between both items.
If crank balancer moves & dist. rotor does not, except after a bit, worn chain.
Inthis instance I beleive it may be the MAS.
Put the tester on the car & see if it throws out a code.
Disconnect battery FIRST, BOTH cables, for a 1/2 hour.
Then connect, then drive for a bit.
Pull over & put on tester, see what code it gives out!
I did that & I got the answer, I didn't want to see, but, I got the part swapped. Autozone was pissed. But so was I.
I already had one rebuilt. It was bad, from then, too!

Well, I would drive it for a bit, BUT this thing won't even get out of it's own way.... To the floor it was only going about 25mph....
