Is my car about to die?

I have a 1990 camaro RS 3.1L V6 . when I start the car in the morning the car revs high and then shuts off, I either have to keep turning it on and off or press the gas. what could be my problem??

Does it rev high, then come back down and die? Or rev high and just die. I'm thinkin vacuum hoses or maybe your IAC valve.

i dunno,,,but take a screw driver and tap on your MAF,,and if it revs normal then goes back down after you tap on it,,,that means it has gone bad,,and you should replace

Yep, that's an SD system. I'm with Overclck, the IAC sounds like the culprit. I bet it (and the IAC passageway) needs to be cleaned. The TPS or timing could be out of adjustment, too.
