yeah, that's right, didn't win mind you, but did humiliate him.

my car now has another bad tranny mount, which keeps me from flooring it from a stop, also it has a bit of a bad tranny, (third and forth gears are gone) but besides that the cars running fine. Anywhoot, here's the story.

I was pulling out of Taco Bell, it was 9:00 at nite' and i hadn't quite paid attention when making my right turn, well, when i start to turn i notice these ford headlights coming at me, so i turn out slowly, but then stomp the gas to accelerate with the guy... ( i wasn't sure at the time if those were t-bird lights or mustang/escort ones) so, i was able to gain speed quickly and was in the lane next to the one where the stang was. He pulled up next to me,and looked over, i quickly noticed the 5.0L tags on the side and said i wouldn't start anything, well, the guy go's on by me, but then starts slowing down, and i catch up with him. We cross a set of railroad tracks that he's doing like 15mph, and so am i, (my cars in 2nd gear too.) well, i pulled next to him and looked over (trying to find out why he's going so slow) and he gives me a nod, so, not starting anything, but making sure to finish, i nod back, and he punches the gas at the same time as i do. His car took a few seconds to fully build up it's power, but once it did, he was able to pull on me, and pulled ahead when he hit 50mph, he had a car length then tapped his brakes. He slowed down again, and wanted to go again, so we did, same results, i held with him from 15-50, the last time, i kept on the gas and was able to hold till 55mph, but that was it. Well, we pulled to a light and i asked him was it a real 5.0L, he said it was, and it sounded like one too, not a beefed up one, but still one, so i repeated the question, anyway the guy started getting kinda irritated at the same question, so i asked if he had mods, he said "no" then asked what i had. I told him a lil' 2.8L Hi-Po, bored out to nearly 3.0L (2.9 really, but who's counting) then i said, "is you're running o.k.?" the guy nodded, but i quickly finished up "well, i think you should have it looked at cause it's slow as hell!" the guy got a little upset, and then tried to speed off while i pulled off to get onto Lindbergh (3.1firebird should know where this is, lindbergh and Midland) anyway. So that's how it ended. I know the car was an auto, and didn't downshift properlly, that or stangs have no kickdown (my firebird will drop 2 gears in a second ((back when i had four gears that is)) ) But that's how it ended out. Me holding from 15-55, his car taking a while to get up and go, and that's about all. Well, hey, don't lock the post, i didn't say i won, and i did say i think the stang wasn't running properly.
