I forgot the name of the company that markets the 2.8 to 3.1L AND 3.4L strokers motors however the guys name is David. Its a GREAT engine and great company. They started off building a engine for a friends blazer (2.8L) and ended up making a bisiness out of it. I have spent a hour or so on the phone with the dad. NICE GUY..... Anyways i regress.... IF you get there 2.8 to 3.1L stroker i would personally go to the 3.4L stroker... More CID and potental... they say they have customers that get 200+HP... Personally out of a built 3.4L if you can't get 200hp you are doing something wrong... Even a 3.1L can pull 235hp...

Buy there storker kit
Get there reworked racing heads with attention payed on the EXHAUST side... (attention = porting)

Either get there cam or call crane and ask them for a custom gride based on your setup.

This all will set you back about 1700.00 to 2100.00 depending on what ya get...

Side note... don't bother will forged pistons unless you go all out... You CAN run a 50hp shot on the engine and not hurt it IF and only IF you set your timing and such up right.

A 3.4L stroker engine with a decent cam and heads that are ported and polished, 1.52 rockers, a decent chip and good exhuast sytem **should** get you into the 225hp range easy. Add a 50 shot and you WILL give V8's a serious run and prolly surprise yourself at what you have done. My old 3.1L that was built gave newer firebird V8 auto cars a serious run, there high 13 second runners. Stock 5.0 firebirds were a easy race without juice, 5.0 liter mustangs were harder, autos were easier, 5 speeds beat me until i went on gas. There was only one ***** that smoked me but he had 10K plus in his engine and turbo. There was a truck that did spank the #$%^ outta me however, dunno what he was but man he was fast... NOS didn't save me minus making the lose alil less embarassing...

Good luck on your build lemme know how i can help, been there, done that...
