305 TPI/M5 vs Cerberus (mildly modded 2.8 MPFI/A4)?
305 TPI/M5 vs Cerberus (mildly modded 2.8 MPFI/A4)?
The answer, unfortunately, is in the favor of the 305. I'll be making a few phonecalls tomorrow to buy it. They don't have a crying smiley face, or I'd use it guys. I couldn't get Cerbie (as my girlfriend has gottten me calling him) revived after all the spark work on Saturday. He came back for a short while, turned off and started a few times to be sure, but then went to a junkyard to kill the afternoon, and he never got going again. Got him a tow home, and found a buyer. Looks like it WAS the fuel pump after all, spark system was just a coincidential side problem. I'm keeping the upper plenum, which I painted a long time ago, since it became a symbol of the V6 cause for me, but the rest is going for about $1k. If anybody can do better, contact me privately.
So, for tech, what would you guys have to do to beat the Cerberus Reincarnation? 305, TPI, 5 speed, decked heads, headers, flowmaster (first thing to go, I still love Dynomax from hearing about it here)?
Don't brand me a traitor guys, I've dumped $250 into it in the last week, still not going. Easily a few grand over the last two years. I'll NEVER bash the 6's, and the first Mustang I crucify with the new 'bird we'll consider chalked up for you guys. Thanks for all the memories, and I'll still be around (too many V8 guys for it to be as close of a group as we've got here).

Hm, well, sorry to see you go, Rick. Why not just do the pump yourself? A pump's $90, the new in-tank strainer/filter "sock" is $15. Besides, you had all those plans...! Wow.

Well, the first thing I have to do next is train myself to not go to the V6 board first thing every time I come to thirdgen.org.
After that, mid 14's are plenty fast enough for me (Guido's last run with ti was 14.7), so show-quality paint and a glass spoiler (it's got the foam one, and it's gettin OLD). After that, keep it running strong, and just slowly build up the motor until it cracks, then get it rebuilt. Oh yeah, I ended up going for a 350 TPI 89 Formula, not the SLP built one. This one doesn't have much done to it, but I still can't wait to get my hands on it. (It's still in Indiana!!! Anyone wanna give me a ride?)
