need help fast ignition problem

need help fast ignition problem

Ok today i did a tune up cap, plugs, wires and a rotor and when i put everything back together it wouldnt start it would crank over fast and then bog for a few seconds and then do the same thing whats going on and do i have to use dielectric grease for it to start thanks David.

Sounds like you may have switched some of the wires around by accident. You may want to double check the firing order.

well the firing order on the 3.1 is real easy..123456..lol no joke...cap plug one is front right closest to the intake...then clock wise from there.

No, that's not true. The position of the #1 cap terminal can be anywhere on the distributor cap. Maybe GM put them all in the same spot from the factory, but who knows what was done to the car since then!
