How to make A.C Delete???

I recently removed my A.C because it was in bad shape....I wanted to know if anyone has made their own Delete because the ones for sale are way to much. There has to be a easy way to make them....I hope!!

Do a search on the Cooling (or V6?) board. Someone did out of sheet aluminum. It has pics and some instructions. You may need to read through several threads. I don't remember the exact one.

Re: How to make A.C Delete???

All I did on mine was buy a shorter belt. No delete pulley needed was needed for my 3.1. That was before I swapped the V8 in of course.

Quick search on Autozone's site shows part numbers 5060905 or 905K6 should work

Re: How to make A.C Delete???

I Already have the smaller belt and i took all the a.c stuff off except i didnt delete the fan spot on the firewall... ill look at some threads on the ac and see if i can find more... sheet metal does sound like a good idea.

Re: How to make A.C Delete???

All you need to do is setup the belt/s differently, quite easy, I honestly don't know why people spend money to add weight and drag back in with delete pulleys....kinda defeats the point imo.

So you are asking about A/C Delete Blower box? I thought you were asking about the A/C Delete Pulley for the serpentine belt. If you don't mind not having heat you can just remove the blower motor and box and block it off with a piece of sheet metal.

If you want to keep the heater and/or blower motor, you can use the blower motor and box from an 82-97 S10/S15/Jimmy/Blazer without A/C. It isn't a 100% perfect fit and requires some minor modifications to work, but its very easy to do. Best of all, the box and motor can be had from a JY for much less than a Thirdgen A/C Delete box.

Re: How to make A.C Delete???

I'm in the same boat. Just removed the compressor etc and used a shorter belt. I haven't got the whole box thing straight yet. But I did see a thread where someone just made a housing that added to the right of the existing blower motor. I'm not sure what's required on the inside of the firewall. If anything.

Nothing. All changes are in the engine bay.
