finally got my car back

it's a haus!!! (sp) anyway...
I went and picked it up two days ago now, the tranny was completely rebuilt, it has new seals and bushings, new clutches, a corvette servo, a shift kit (i forgot what brand it was, but the guy said it's the stage II kit, and he installed it for free), and they boosted presure in the lines.Yeah, it's nice, real nice. The only extra thingie i paid for was $35 for the vette servo, so it's all good stuff.

Now, the car will get a chirp when it hits second gear, the only thing is that it runs the car to 6k. I didn't know it was going to run it to red-line and getting it that high doesn't nesecarily worry me, but the problem is that i run out of power at roughly 5100 or so, so for 900 rpms i'm slowing down a little bit, but the car gets something like a 10mph jump when it upshifts, and nearly breaks my back.

Oh yeah, and is 2300 rpms at 70 about right? i wasn't sure, it seemed a little low at first but i'm not sure anymore. Well guys, so most of my drivetrain is now replaced (new motor and tranny) oh one problem. My rear axel's differential is now leaking fluid, i noticed it on the ground this morning, and my mechanic told me about it when i went for an inspection today. When someone drops the tranny do they have to remove the axel door thingie, and undo anything that has to do with the driveshaft, or will the tranny plop out without pulling the drive shaft out? Thanx dudes.

All you have to do is replace the gasket. You have to remove the driveshaft to get the tranny out but you don't mess with the axel. You may as well change the fluid in the case while you are changing the gasket.
