K&N filter question....

I just got a factory replacement filter for my 'maro... Would it have been better to get a conical?
Just curious as to what you guy's opinion is...

I think the conical filter will flow more air but you would have to buy a cold air induction kit to use one

You get a little more out of it, but not a lot...conical ones are better. Supposedly SLP's CAI fits our cars...

Go to that link and see my conical setup.... Very simple to make, sounds good and looks good. All you need is 1 17'' of straight PVC anda 3 1/2 inch conical filter. I am lucky cause I relocated my battery to the trunk, but my buddy put his where is Charcoal canister is and moved that to underneath of where it is.. He needed a longer section of PVC

Hey Brian,
Is the air sensor located in that piece after the flexible hose? Where did you get that?

By the way, my battery is on the other side. The side that you have the filter right now is where mine is originally.

I put I think they call it the IAT sensor by about 4 - 6 inches from the filter. I made it all myself out of PVC. I painted it RED with some 97 cent red paint and it has outlasted many other things I have painted. I used thick wall PVC I could have used thin wall... It dosen't matter, I was just cheap. I bought the PVC first and matched the filter to the pipe. That way I did not have to take the filter back if it did not fit. I took the PVC in and go to the guy what do you have to fit this. Another plus is you can always go to import shops since they have conicals all over for sale that you can match it to...
