Rattling sound

A few weeks ago i started hearing a rattling sound like something in a tin can bounceing around lightly. I thought it was bad gas but 6 fill ups late all different stations its still there. I changed my oil lastnight hopeing that my help of couse it didnt. It only does it at WOT and occaionaly at moderate throtle. Any ideas what it is. Its comming fromm the drivers side.

Wow, i haven't been here in a while! how the hell are all of ya? My guess is that it would either be your flywheel, or, more convienient, your heat shield above your exhaust. When your flywheel cracks, (which happened to mine, twice!) It makes a rattling sound, which goes away after a certain amount of RPM's. The rattle gets louder and faster until a certain point, then stops after RPM's are high enough. A pain in the @$$, because u have to pull your tranny to replace a 35 dollar part.
What would be a lot more convienient is if your heat shield had become a bit loose, and was rattling against your exhaust. The lower the RPM's, the lower the friction, therefore the noise will be more audible. More RPM's, more friction, the noise becomes too high pitched for a person to hear. All I did was take a few screws and drill the shield up with some heat-proof rubber inbetween, and the noise is gone. Your problem might be neither of these, this is just the experiance i have had with rattles in my car.

1992 Firebird automatic, brand new engine/tranny/brakes/tires..paint is getting touched up- Medium blue

Mods that came w/car - New dual exhaust, maybe lowered cause the tailpipes (angled down 1 inch) scrape on driveway and so does front end..the accual fascia gets stuck if u go less than 2 mph! maybe new wires/plugs, and deff. a POSI unless the car came with the 2 wheel tire spin rear
