Cam options for 2.8/3.1

Looks like the v8 swap will be put off til christmas...

I want to know is the stock cam suppose to pull to 4000rpm...my power seems to drop out a little around 3500 and after...

Would it be safe to get a cam that pulls to 5500rpm?

what other mods do you have? If your car is stock i wouldn't shoot for the cam just yet, and if your really gunna go for the v8 swap i wouldn't even waste your $ on modding the 6 imo

The power loss has nothing to do with the cam... It's all the top end. The iron heads and stock intake kill any decent power that could be made above 4K. Agreeing with the guy above, getting a new cam when going V8 in a few months would be a waste of money and time spent in the swap.

The only thing done is a cat delete with the timing set to 12 btdc flowmaster muffler...runs alot better off the line the top end just sucks. When i do the v8 i'd hate to trash the v6 its still a good motor
