tranny mount

alright. i've gone through three of these things now, and with my cars recent boost in shifting ability, i think i could see many more broken mounts in the future. but i've got a question for ya'll, where do you get the polyeurathane mounts ( i called autozone and advance auto and neither of them carry the mounts) also, do your guy's cars shift really hard between reverse and drive, when i back up, stop, and shift to drive, my car gives this really hard kick. Anyway, i'll talk to you'll later. thanx in advance.

You could need U-Joints.
Also
You could have "worn gears back there". Meaning lots of gear spacing slop. Just age. The rear gears in my Firebird (your year, too) are in excellent shape. 108K miles.
NOW, the gears in my S-10 Blazer, are worn, age/milage spacing, lots of slop. 211,500 miles.

Hey i was just in the same situation u are in... i popped my 4th mount... but this time i knew about the energy supsension mounts.

3-1108G (For black mount) ... B=Blue R=Red
3-1109G These are teh crossmember bushings. i decided to put them in while i was at it.

Parts fit pretty well.. cept for the main bolt going thru the plate that is between the crossmember and the mount... needed a slight and i mean slight filing to allow the bolt to fit thru.

I had a bit of an oil leak which i saw was causing the mounts to get eaten away. i fixed that and now i got this mount in... i dont see anymore problems.

I had the hard shifts 2. i think it might be due in part to the ****ty mounts giving way and lettin the tranny just smack around.. now with the new mount.. they are very firm, but not sloppy, and much smoother

I have this problem, not really had thumps, but it does kick when I put it into drive, or shift to reverse or drive to reverse...my mount isn't broken, but the nut on the mount is welded on.

I only feel this kicking from the tranny when shifting into drive or Reverse...when I stop at a stop sign and take off, its fine...How about yours?
