What's wrong now????

Ok when my V6 3.1L Camaro is cold, it is real doggy and when you push the gas from a dead stop it will jump up in RPM then die/drop off in RPM then if you mash it, it will cough then jump up in RPM and then it shifts into 2nd and is ok. But it will do this until the motor gets warm. If the car is at normal opperating temp. it is smooth as glass. I've done a TV cable adjustment, that helped the tranny but I'm thinking I need to advance or check my timing, am I right??????

Honestly, sounds like the motor needs to warm up first. A major tuneup would probably cure this... and that includes timing. Click on search at the upper right of this message, and search for "Major Tuneup"- you'll find my message.

Ok I've done plugs, air filter, pick up coil, new MSD coil, new cap and rotor, new ignition module, new after market leads, new oil, coolent, transmission flush, new IAC and TPS, butter fly cleaned up, checked for codes there is none, TV cable adjustment, new altnator, new belt, new battery, new cap, all new heat hoses, topped off the A/C, so I guess the only thing I need to COMPLETE THE TUNE UP is check the timeing and change the fuel filter. CAN ANYBODY THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE??????????

well would have checked the timing first. Thats probly the prob. If it bogs down weither cold or hot its more then likely the timing. I can rev my motor cold and it spools up fine. Cold or hot should not matter. I have started up in -10 degree weather and drove it just seconds later and it has never given any probs. Well once it did when I had it for 3 months so I reset the timing and it was fine afterwards... Its now been over 18 months and still no probs.

How did you adjust the TPS sensor's voltage at idle? Don't forget about the PCV valve, but that wouldn't cause your stumbling problem.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you install it, it doesn't mean it's set right, you still have to move it up and down to get the correct reading, right? Or does that come factory set correctly?

If setting the timing doesn't help, start checking injectors. Get yourself a spare set from the junkyard to use while the ones you send out to cruzinperformance are being worked on.

TPS is set at the factory no way to change, I'm going to check the timing again, I did when I put the new pick up coil on but maybe I'm off a few degrees.

Xeno, that reminds me; there was a discussion a while ago about the later model TPS's; they were self-adjusting. On startup & idle, the computer would memorize that voltage as "idle position", and go from there. It's not like our 85-89 computers that need to see 0.55 volts to know they're at idle.

IF your engine is old, put a timing light on it, to see how bad the timing chain is.
IF it's old & stretched, it could be the cause.
To see this, just hook up the light to your engine and have it started. IF the timing mark jumps jumps around, you may have found the problem.
ALSO, look for any vacuum hose leaks. You may have some, too. Watch out the plastic lines break real easy.

Ha I don't think my timing chain is worn or anything with only 72,000 miles

I'm sure it is. The recommended replacement interval of a timing chain is 25,000 miles- although they last much longer. I changed my original out at 180,000 miles- what a difference!
